Shum Lung

Shum Lung (Chinese: 岑能; pinyin: Cén Néng; Yale Cantonese: Sam4 Nang4; also transliterated "Sum Nung") was a student of Yuan Kay-shan (阮奇山) in the discipline of Wing Chun. In 1947, he taught Wing Chun at Guangzhou Machinery Union (廣州機器工會). The next year, he opened an herbal clinic on Daisun(?) Street (大新街) and ran a martial art school. Many Wing Chun practitioners in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States descend from Shum Lung. [1] [2]
